When someone asks, “who are you?“…I’m always somewhat at loss for words. I can tell you what I’ve done, but who AM I? Still a work in progress, that’s for sure. I somehow always thought when I reached a certain age…you’d KNOW without a doubt who you are and what you’re about. But I’ve found that’s not true. Most of us are always seeking, looking ahead…what’s next?
But my past, I can tell you. I grew up in the little town of Gardendale, Alabama, next to my Mom and Dad’s large vegetable garden where he grew the best tomatoes in the world, with two wonderful sisters who are still my best friends. Shelling Lima beans…that’s a different story. I grew up to become a talk show host and television journalist working for Evening Magazine, Great Country Inns, and being a news anchor. I have had many ask…how did you get started in tv? The answer..I’m not really sure, and that’s the honest truth. It just… happened.
I’ve been fortunate enough to travel all over the world on someone else’s dime (that’s the very best way to travel, let me tell you)…met all kinds of people, told others people’s stories for years and years.
And I loved it.
But now as I move forward, I still like telling stories…now some of mine and some of yours as well. And I’m fully convinced, everyone has a story to tell…everyone.
So I hope you’ll follow along on my journey as I explore some of my favorite things…good food, making a house yours, trying to look the way we want to look, seeing other places and things. Life, really. That’s what it’s all about, right?
Don’t be a stranger…
